Capula to deliver Thames Water sub metering solution
26 Jul 2012
We’re pleased to have secured a significant contract with Thames Water for the installation of energy meters at 22 sites across North and South London and the Thames Valley. Identified by Thames Water and their energy consultants SKM Enviros & Grontmij for particularly high energy usage, these sites are responsible for a considerable percentage of Thames Water’s current energy spend.
The contract, which falls within the scope of the FA863 Instrumentation, Control & Automation (ICA) Framework that Capula successfully won in 2010, will see us install some 800+ energy meters with an aim of reducing each site’s energy consumption, thereby realising a substantial cost saving year on year.
Capula’s scope of work includes the selection and installation of the SOCOMEC energy meters, cabling and interfacing to the incumbent PLCs (a mix of Rockwell, GEM80 & BBL) and SCADA systems (including Wonderware, RTAP, Iconics, Paragon & RSView). New mimic SCADA screens will be created to display operational data to site operators, enabling optimised site performance.
“We continue to enjoy a fine relationship with Thames Water,” said Capula’s Chief Executive Roger Turner, “This is the latest project Capula will have delivered as part of the FA863 ICA Framework and we look forward to providing Thames Water with a robust solution capable of delivering the cost savings they require.”
