Capula delivers integrated solution for Drax

We announced last year that Capula was selected to deliver the control scheme for a £50 million contract by Alstom Power relating to the main processing works associated with the 1.5 million tonnes per year biomass co-firing facility to be constructed at the 4,000MW Drax Power Station in North Yorkshire.
Capula is pleased to announce that it has now been selected to deliver the control scheme for a further £18 million contract by C Spencer to supply rail unloading equipment and biomass bulk storage and handling systems to feed the direct injection biomass co-firing systems currently being installed.
Along with the company's contract to completely refurbish and modernise the control systems relating to the Power Station's Materials Handling plant, it means that Capula are providing a fully integrated control solution to Drax across several systems.

This is the latest in a number of projects Capula has undertaken at the Drax site - over the past 12 years the company has completed the refit and refurbishment of the Power Station's six generating units, station common service plant, water treatment plant, materials handling plant, biomass road unloading, processing, and direct injection plant, and now rail unloading plant, and many other smaller plant automation schemes.
