Capula provides Fairfield Energy control system interface
20 Mar 2010
Fairfield Energy was launched in 2005 as one of the best funded UK start-up companies in the North Sea, and was created to pursue opportunities provided by the restructuring of asset ownership in the UKCS, as the majors and other long-term acreage holders began to shift their focus to different parts of the world.
As Fairfield have expanded their portfolio, they have acquired a number of offshore rig assets, and these have included DCS control and OSIsoft PI systems.
Capula was engaged to conduct a full system audit, following which our initial project was to develop a bespoke interface into Fairfield's legacy DCS system so they could effectively and efficiently extract meaningful data. This would subsequently enable Fairfield to improve their understanding of real-time production figures critical to the running of their assets.
A number of further projects have followed as our relationship with Fairfield continues to develop.
"Over the last five years, Fairfield have emerged as an important company in the offshore market," commented Simon Coombs, Business Development Director for Capula, "With our experience and expertise in system integration, Capula is well-placed to provide Fairfield with the solutions needed to help drive optimised performance and control across their assets. We look forward to a long and successful relationship for many years to come."
