Fundraising fun at Capula
01 Nov 2011
Workers around all Capula's offices were supporting the Breast Cancer Campaign last week by 'wearing it pink' to raise awareness for the charity.
Breast Cancer Campaign is a unique community of scientists, supporters and people touched by breast cancer. Their pioneering approach to breast cancer research trusts scientific experts to identify the research work with the greatest potential to save and improve lives and, ultimately, find a cure for breast cancer. The charity is currently supporting 101 research projects worth over £17.2 million in 34 centres of excellence across the UK and Ireland.
"As a company, we understand the importance of supporting our local communities and making a difference where possible," said Chief Executive Roger Turner, "Some of the personal challenges completed by our staff this year have been remarkable, and Capula has been pleased to support these excellent efforts where possible."
* Capula has supported the Breast Cancer Campaign for several years, alongside a number of other fundraising ventures including the recent Jeans for Genes Day, which saw Capula staff raise a total of £245 by wearing denim to work for the day.
We are also happy to give backing to personal undertakings too; this year we've supported accomplishments by Chris Cheshire, Paul Myatt and most recently Ben Kidd (pictured inset) who dressed and acted as a pirate for a day to raise more than £300 towards his partner's replacement wheelchair.
