Capula secures supporting role
Stone based, Capula Ltd has been awarded a three-year support contract for software and hardware services by United Utilities.
With its headquarters in Warrington, United Utilities was created in 1995 by the merger of North West Water and the regional electricity company Norweb. United Utilities' principal business activities are the management and operation of the electricity distribution, water and wastewater networks in the North West of England, servicing a population of 7 million.
The contract secured by Capula relates to United Utilities water and wastewater operations; commenting on the news Chris Knipe, Capula's Business Development Manager said, “I am delighted to have been awarded this significant contract, Capula has a working relationship with United Utilities spanning over 10 years and this latest contract demonstrates United Utilities' continued confidence in Capula. The contract will cover the support of operational IT systems that help to ensure the supply of clean water to the community. This success comes at a time when we are actively developing our profile in the Utilities market, having secured framework contracts in the last eighteen months with a number of other water companies, to supply advanced automation and real-time business intelligence solutions that cover operations from plant through to the boardroom.”
John Bryers, United Utilities Telemetry Services Manager said, "This contract underpins our roadmap for integrating advanced, leading edge technology and innovation. It will ensure our monitoring and control, remote access and security systems deliver the United Utilities business plan, which supports our commitment in meeting all its regulatory and quality targets.”
