This course introduces the various ways that applications written in .NET languages can interact with the OSIsoft PI system.

On completion delegates will be able to:

• Understand the technologies available for interacting with PI
• Connect to the PI Server through the PI SDK and manipulate PI objects
• Connect to the AF Server through the AF SDK and manipulate AF objects
• Manipulate PI Notifications with the AN SDK and create custom delivery channels
• Create client applications to present PI data through PI Web Services
• Connect to the PI and AF systems using PI OLEDB

This is a hands-on course allowing students with .NET application development experience to interact with PI through various technologies.  The course assumes familiarity with the Visual Basic .NET language (though examples are also available in C#) and the Visual Studio IDE.

The course is designed for programmers who want to develop applications that interact with the PI and AF systems and databases.

Prerequisites

Delegates must be familiar with the PI Server and AF, and must be experienced application developers with familiarity with Visual Basic .NET.
