As an independent systems integrator, Capula is able to offer technologies and equipment sourced from a number of preferred suppliers to match the particular needs of our client.

Instrumentation

Capula has extensive experience of integrating field-based instrumentation into our control systems solutions. Our instrumentation technicians will provide the right instrument and ensure each one is fitted, tested and calibrated in situ, to allow accurate measurement of the process parameters.
This may include specialist analytical instrumentation where necessary.

Switchboards & Motor Control Centres

Most modern control system solutions have the need to control power to consumers, motors and other devices on the process plant. Capula has extensive experience in designing and installing low voltage switchboards and motor control centres (MCCs) which include all of the necessary switching and protection equipment required to control motors, actuators, positioners and power consumers of all types.

Direct online, variable speed drives, soft starters etc of many types are a normal part of a typical MCC system used to permit speed control and/or energy efficiency.  We integrate components from a variety of product vendors using conventional or intelligent bus communication devices to provide the right solution for each application.

Actuation & Motors

Some of our clients prefer to place the responsibility of supplying and fitting the field actuators and motors with the process plant vendor. Others prefer to give the responsibility of these items to the Integrator so that they can take responsibility of the entire loop from field device right through to DCS and back to actuator.
Capula is happy to work in either way to suit our clients’ needs.

Power Supplies

It is vital that all mission critical control systems have a secure power supply. Capula can provide integrated Uninterruptable Power Supplies (UPS) which can maintain power onto the control and instrumentation of the system in the event of a power failure.
Rating and capacity of the UPS can be tailored to suit each individual application, and health monitored by the control system.
In some cases, we offer standby diesel generators where required.

Electrical Cable Installation

The vital element of Capula’s Fully Integrated Solution is the myriad of cables and networks which are needed to connect all system components together. When it comes to this aspect, Capula is able to take full responsibility for the design and installation of the cables. This includes cable selection, routing, termination, cable design and testing.

There are many different types of cable used on the typical installation, such as:

• Power distribution cables
• Motor/consumer power cables
• Signal cables
• Communications/network cables (including copper & fibre optics, wireless)
• Earthing & bonding
• Cable support systems (including trays, ladders)
• Lighting and small power

Our engineers will design the cable systems, produce all necessary documentation, procure all materials and manage sub-contractors to provide the complete installation.
All work will be done in accordance with established safety rules and guidelines, and in accordance with any local or client specific safety regulations, while fully supervised by our Site Manager who provides a single liaison point to the client.
