Capula, an independent systems integrator is delighted to be strengthening its links with Staffordshire University since Mark Hardy, Capula’s Strategic Projects Director has recently been given the opportunity to provide support in two areas.
Mark has accepted an inaugural position on the University’s Industrial Advisory Board which aims to assist the University in understanding and meeting the needs of employers and external stakeholder groups as well as seeking to identify gaps in the course provision with a view to recommending changes. The committee meets regularly and comprises members of academia, trade bodies and other industry professionals and Mark’s input will help ensure programmes remain relevant and effective for graduates in industry.
Secondly, Mark has agreed to represent Capula on the judging panel of the ‘The Images of Research’ poster competition which is open to PHd students and professors at the University and is designed to demonstrate how researchers at the University collaborate with industry. Mark will score the entrant’s posters according to their effectiveness in conveying their complex research specialisms and their potential impact on the world in a clear understandable way. Mark will also attend a private awards ceremony on Thursday 19th November where the winners will be announced by Deputy Vice Chancellor, Professor Allan Howells.
‘This collaboration helps Capula establish a working partnership with the Engineering Departments and Schools that train our graduates’, said Mark. ‘I am pleased to be able offer insight from an industry perspective as Staffordshire University continues to offer excellent industry relevant degree courses that have equipped many of our employees with the skills they need to work on real-world solutions’.
