Summary of Role:

Capula is part of the Imtech Group and a leading advanced automation and real-time business intelligence company specialising in Automation, Control and IT Solutions and Services with major customers in the Nuclear, Energy & Infrastructure and Transmission & Distribution markets.  The Company is renowned for its innovation, technical excellence, and project delivery, quality and safety.

 

We are looking to recruit electrical design engineers to join Capula and be part of a world class team as we begin to prepare for our upcoming projects for Hinkley Point C (HPC) amongst others.

Essential Requirements:

  • Good team player
  • Effective communicator
  • Good working knowledge of AutoCAD Electrical or similar
  • Be prepared to travel to/work at customer sites or offices
  • Experience of designing electrical control panels containing;
  • Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC’s),
  • Relay logic, signal converters, trip-amps
  • LV modular distribution systems incorporating MCCBs and VSDs,
  • Transformers and/or Switchboards,
  • Design of electrical cabling and containment systems,
  • Ability to mentor and develop technicians and engineers
  • Able to develop technical solutions to meet project and customer expectations
  • Capable of working to tight deadlines and high standards of quality
  • Thorough understanding of, or working towards, BS7671 IEE 18th Edition Wiring Regulations
  • Understanding of IEC BS EN 60439-1, Low-voltage switchgear and control gear assemblies
  • Able to work and contribute ideas within a multidisciplinary design team

 

Desirable Requirements:

  • Must have or be able to achieve security clearance to at least SC level, and possibly DV
  • HNC to BEng (Hons) in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent)
  • Will hold or be working towards Chartered or Incorporated Engineering status
  • Advanced written and verbal communication skills in English
  • Site experience (survey/install/setting to work)
  • A good working knowledge of related safety and environmental legislation, G5/4 Harmonic Standard
