Liam is currently a UX/UI Designer on a wide range of software packages for Capula, as part of the Operational Intelligence department. He is focusing on producing the graphics for the new range OPUS products.
When did you start working at Capula and what is your role?
I joined the company back in January 2019. I’m a UX Designer within the Operational Intelligence team in Capula’s Head Office in Stone, Staffordshire.
Describe a typical day in your current role?
Day to day you’ll find me working on OPUS products, improving the user experience and user interfaces for each software, from designing button icons to mapping out the user flow of each system. I support the developers within the team with diverse activities such as front end development work to font changes and image alignment.
What is the most fulfilling aspect of your role?
I am responsible for all the graphics on the OPUS product portfolio and support the developers. I enjoy contributing to systems that will be used by an end user.
What do you like to do in your spare time?
Something I’m really passionate about is keeping up to date with the latest advances in UX design. I enjoy learning about new design trends, processes and changes in the industry.
Why did you pursue a career in UX Design?
Since leaving college I knew I wanted to pursue a career in the creative industry. I began my career as a graphic designer then moved on to layout design then finally transferred over to UX Design.
The great thing about design is being at the forefront of the business and contributing to the customers’ user experience.
